Future-oriented in a demanding market
With our products, we are future-oriented in a demanding market. Over the course of time, we have given several models of well-known automobile brands on almost every continent, an unmistakable light and face design with our products.
We continue to develop technology and design and regularly set new standards with our innovations. In doing so, we work in close cooperation with our customers to be able to offer the best possible solution for each customer project, from initial consultation to series production of the headlamp.
This is how our market-oriented innovations are created, ones in which our goal for short production lead times as a standard are upheld. Each product presents us with an exciting task and receives our highest levels of concentration.
Application of basic modules in specific customer projects

Laser-LED-Module
600-Meter High-Beam
Marelli has developed and series-produced a Laser-Led-Module for the Audi R8 headlamp auxiliary main beam spot. The laser high beam spot achieves a high beam range of approximately 600 meters in comparison to conventional beams with around 250 meters. In the case of laser high beam lighting, one laser module per headlamp generates a cone of light with twice the beam length of the Full-LED-Headlamp. The laser spot becomes active at speeds higher than 70 km/h and due to its range, increases visibility and safety.

LED-Projection Module
Adaptive Light Functions
With the Partial High Beam (PHB) in the Mercedes S-Class, Marelli introduces the latest market technology and thereby, currently offers the best light distribution on the road. The innovative PHB-Light source is equipped with an array of 84 LEDs with 84 light pixels per LED chip which are individually controllable. The predecessor had only 24. This increase enables an even higher resolution of the light line and a better illumination of the road surface. The control of the headlamp pixels for low-beam and high-beam is performed via a camera which recognizes other traffic participants and avoids glaring.

Electrical-Mechanical Projection Module
Adaptive Light Functions
All adaptive light functions are realized by means of camera signals via electrical-mechanical actuators which adjust the horizontal and vertical aperture positions. This module enables a virtually infinitely variable dynamic corner lighting function. The glare-free continuous high beam light can also be virtually infinitely adapted to the traffic situation.

Electronic Reflection Module
Electronic High-Beam Function
The light distribution of the glare-free stripe high beam light is adjusted by means of camera signals in such a way that gaps in the stripe-shaped distribution are blocked out for other road users when driving in high beam mode. These stripes are also used as a "synthetic high-beam light" by means of modulation and accentuated according to the course of the curve.

Magic Movement Module
Electronic/Mechanical
The Magic Movement Module is an innovative development achievement. It is the first module in which reflectors and design parts, magically, rotate around their own axis. For the light functions, individual modules rotate 180 degrees, and follow the curve of the road up to a maximum of 55 degrees. Additionally, a new aspect is offered with the definable coloring via the use of RGB LEDs when the ignition is switched off. The "Magic Movement Module" is one of the most "mechanically demanding" modules with the highest demands on mechatronics (motors, gearboxes, sensors, control) to precisely execute the complex movements.
Main Light Functions

Multi-Signal Unit
A flare-shaped light guide module with a tri-color light supply:
- White LED-Chips for the daytime-running-light and dimmed as limiting light
- Yellow semiconductor for direction indicator function
- Blue LEDs in animated sequence with yellow and white chips as welcome function (vehicle location)

DRL-Module
The DRL module has characteristic brand-specific three-dimensional light icons with semiconductor light sources and integrated electronic controlling as well as multi-stage fiber optics.

Xenon AFX-Module
High-quality and powerful Xenon-Module with multiple functions and adjustment of the light distribution via motor-controlled multiple reflectors.

Indicator unit
Multi-Reflector-Unit with 14 individual yellow LED-chips. The light distribution is controlled by sawtooth-shaped secondary optics in the reflector chambers.

Cornering-Module
The reflection unit is equipped with multiple LEDs on the electronics board and serves as a standard module for applications in series projection, lateral extension of the basic light distribution for cornering situations and static cornering lighting.
